SCCM CB 1702 is now available


SCCM Current branch 1702 is released today,

This release comes with new features such as:

  • Close running EXE files at the end of deployment deadline to allow the deployment of required Apps.
  • Custom warning message for high-risk deployments.
  • Software update points are added to boundary group, this allows for the clients to be assigned to different SUP based on their BG if their Primary SUP is not accessible.

However, Windows Server 2008, and 2008 R2 are no more supported for the site system server and most site system roles. Also, SQL server 2008 R2 is no longer supported for site database server. In addition, XP Embedded is no longer supported client OS.

Thus, if you are still running Windows server 2008 or SQL 2008 R2 you need to upgrade them before applying 1702 update.

Usually, It takes some time for the new update to show under the “Updates and Servicing” node in your Configuration Manager console. If you want to see the update available in your console right away.  you can run the following script to enable early update ring
