DPM Agent Status “failed” after fresh agent installation

The case:
I have installed the DPM agent on a server (which firewall is turned off) using the push method,
After the installation, the DPM console shows that it can’t connect to the agent, and the agent is in a failure state.

The solution:

On the server you’ve installed the DPM agent on use the following command to assign the client to the DPM server, and add a firewall rules to allow communication between the agent and the server ( this is needed even if the firewall was turned off).

Open a CMD and write the following <drive letter>:\Program Files\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\DPM\bin\SetDpmServer.exe – dpmServerName <DPM server name>

The command will create 4 firewall exceptions as shown below

Now under the DPM conslole | Management | Agents, right click the problematic agent and select Refresh. The Agent status now should be OK.
